How much does it cost to participate in Practice Round?
It's 100% free. This is a community-driven initiative where designers volunteer their time to support others in their job search.
How long does it take to schedule a session?
At least 5 business days. Need it sooner? We'll do our best to arrange a session within 48 hours, depending on availability.
What's the time commitment for a portfolio review session?
Each session lasts about 60 minutes:
- First 30 minutes – You present your portfolio or practice interview responses.
- Last 30 minutes – Panelists provide feedback, answer follow-up questions, and offer deeper insights to help you improve.
Do I need a completed portfolio or website to participate?
For portfolio review sessions, you'll need at least one project or presentation to share. It doesn't have to be final—these sessions are designed to help you refine your storytelling and structure.
Who are the panelists conducting the mock interviews?
Our panelists are experienced designers and hiring managers who volunteer their time to support the community. Many have experience reviewing portfolios, conducting interviews, and mentoring designers at top companies.
At the same time, participating as a panelist is a valuable opportunity for designers looking to strengthen their ability to interview, assess talent, and provide constructive feedback—key skills for career growth.
We match participants with panelists based on industry and expertise to ensure a meaningful experience for both sides.
Can I participate in multiple sessions?
We encourage designers to return for additional practice as they refine their portfolio, storytelling, and interview skills. If you've already completed a session and want to focus on specific areas, let us know—we're here to support your growth.
